Brokk benefits

Remote control:
The operator can choose the best location for the work, either close to the attachment when precision is required,
e.g. in a furnace, or at a safe distance in hazardous, hot or contaminated environments.

The operator runs no risk of being injured by falling objects or exposed to vibration injuries as is otherwise the case when using hand-held tools or sitting on/in a machine.
Due to the risk of injury, many countries have set a limit to the length of time you may spend using hand-held tools. In Europe for example, the Physical Agents (Vibration) Directive 2002/44/EC lays down minimum standards for the health and safety of workers exposed to hand-arm and whole-body vibration.
The operator does not get tired but can work throughout the shift. He does not risk getting injured due to fatigue. Precision manoeuvring also means that damage to adjacent material is avoided.

Electric drive:
No hazardous exhaust fumes and low noise levels, especially when using crusher. The machine is ideal for operating indoors,
in furnaces, etc.

Other benefits:
Brokk machines are specially designed for continuous operation with hydraulic breaker. This is very hard on the machine carrying the attachment and it must be able to withstand extreme stress.

Its small dimensions allow a Brokk machine to pass through narrow doorways, windows, furnaces, elevator shafts etc.

Brokk machines can carry very heavy attachments for their weight, thus have a much greater capacity than can be judged from their size.

The three-part arm can be retracted so that the machine has very small transport dimensions but a long reach when in operation. A three-part arm is stronger, more mobile and more flexible than a two-part arm.

Thanks to the many different attachments that can be fitted to the machine, a contractor owning a Brokk robot can take on a wide variety of work.

Brokk works well in most environments, from the cold winter climate in Northern Sweden to the baking temperatures of a steelworks.

Its  low weight allows the machine to enter and work on most surfaces like ordinary apartment floors.

Training

Operating a Brokk machine is easy to learn but experience and practice will still make a big difference.
We provide training courses for Brokk operators and service personnel. Find out how to get the best out of your machine,

Transport

On site, the machine is operated from the control box and it is driven by electricity through the power cable.  It may sometimes be a good idea to have extension cables or a cable reel as well.

The smaller machines are able to climb up and down staircases. This depends a lot on the experience and skill of the operator. 1001647.jpg (24754 byte)
A Brokk machine can be driven into a lift for transport between floors. A standard indoor passenger elevator or building hoist, it all depends on the model. 1001613.jpg (42861 byte)
A truck or wheel loader can be used to lift Brokk with a fork lift and take it wherever you want.
It also has lifting eyes for straps in order to move it that way as well. But first, read the instruction manual so that you attach the lifting straps properly! 1000205.jpg (43461 byte)
Brokk is sometimes used at the top of a high chimneystack or building. A platform and a helicopter may then be needed. 1001631.jpg (48253 byte)
There are several alternative ways of transporting it between sites. The smallest model, Brokk 40, can be transported on a car trailer, Brokk 90 can be driven on a pick-up, while the larger models will need a truck.
