New Brokk demolition machines added to Cramo’s rental fleet

Cramo has placed an order with Brokk AB for six remote controlled demolition machines. With these new units, four Brokk 40 and two Brokk 90, the total number of Brokk machines that Cramo has brought into their rental fleet over the years now amounts to 21 units.

Skellefteå based Brokk AB is the world’s leading supplier of this type of equipment with more than 2600 units delivered world-wide. Cramo acquired their first Brokk in the mid 90’s. Since then the focus on improved working conditions for demolition crews has resulted in an increased demand for their Brokk robots. According to Hans Öberg, head of Cramo’s business unit for construction machinery, the six new Brokk machines will enable Cramo to satisfy the increasing number of contractors who choose to replace conventional, hand-held tools with modern, technically advanced and user friendly equipment. The job gets done quicker, the precision is excellent and the operators are not exposed to unhealthy vibration or exhaust fumes. The contractor does not have to plan for job rotation or interruptions in order to avoid health risks.

Having almost the entire Brokk range in its existing rental fleet – the machines are available in five sizes – Cramo this time chose to increase the number of the smaller robots. Brokk 40, the smallest of them all, is able to operate in very confined spaces; in fact it only needs around 3 square metres, and replaces hand-held equipment for light demolition work indoors. The bigger and stronger Brokk 90 is still small, light, and mobile enough to get into ordinary elevators and operate on floors in apartment buildings. Nonetheless Brokk 90 is powerful enough to carry out heavier demolition jobs in industrial environments. Brokk 90 was introduced to the market only last year and sales successes so far testify to the outstanding performance qualities and adaptability of the machine.
