The Many Faces of Brokk Operators: Simone

“Sometimes I even catch myself talking to the machine.”

Simone Iseppi knows demolition, and he knows Brokk. As Head of the Demolition Division at TEP Taglio e Perforazione in Alzate Brianza, Italy, Simone has spent the last 19 years working hands-on with Brokk robots. Now 52, he still finds the work exciting, challenging, and, at times, even a little emotional.

  • Name: Simone Iseppi
  • Location: Alzate Brianza, Italy
  • Age: 52 years old
  • Profession: Operator / Head of Demolition Division
  • Years of experience: 19
  • Company: TEP Taglio e Perforazione

Love at First Remote

Simone’s demolition career began in 2006 with a Brokk in his hands. Literally. “The very first thing they handed me was the remote control of a Brokk 80, just to see if I had a feel for it,” he says. “That’s where everything started for me… it was love at first sight.” Learning on the job alongside an experienced colleague, Simone quickly took to the machines. Continued support from Brokk Italy helped him grow beyond basic operation into areas like troubleshooting and equipment care. “Even though I’ve always been passionate about mechanical equipment, working with Brokk has taught me so much more.”

What Makes Brokk Stand Out

After nearly two decades in the field, Simone knows exactly what makes Brokk unique. “The biggest advantage is the power-to-weight-to-size ratio. No other machine compares.” He also emphasizes the ability to work from a safe distance—something that’s had a direct impact on both safety and mindset. “Not having to be in or on the machine allows me to work safely and with peace of mind. That changes how you approach a job.”

Speed, Precision, and a Crowd-Pleaser

One thing Simone never tires of is how much attention Brokk draws on-site.

The Brokk always grabs people’s attention. When they see how much it can do, and how quickly, they’re impressed.

But it’s not just about speed. “You can remove exactly what you need, without damaging anything else. That level of control is critical.” Brokk’s precision makes it indispensable for delicate jobs, especially selective demolition or work in heritage buildings.

A Perfect Fit for Sensitive Sites

Some of Simone’s most demanding projects have been in places where traditional demolition equipment just can’t go, like hospitals, airports, and other restrictive environments. “In places where combustion engines aren’t allowed, Brokk really shines. It’s compact, flexible, and gets the job done cleanly.” That kind of adaptability doesn’t just solve problems. It creates new possibilities.

Productivity You Can Be Proud Of

For Simone, nothing beats delivering results quickly, and safely. “What makes me proud is being able to hit high productivity levels, especially when compared to traditional tools or methods.” And with Brokk on the job, that productivity doesn’t come at the cost of safety or quality.

More Than a Machine

Over the years, Simone has formed a strong connection with his Brokk machines. “It’s a great feeling operating a Brokk. Honestly, sometimes I catch myself talking to it, and my coworkers tease me,” he laughs. “But it just shows how in control I feel when I’m working.”

That control is backed by experience, but also by a mindset of constant learning and curiosity. “You never stop learning. There’s something new every day, personally and professionally.”

Advice to New Operators: Stay Humble, Stay Hooked

For newcomers, Simone offers this advice:

“Never think you’ve ‘made it’ or that you know everything. That mindset will hold you back.”

And one final warning—half joke, half-truth:

“Someone should’ve warned me: Brokk is seriously addictive.”
