Brokk had a powerful showing at the Bauma 2013 exhibition in Munich, Germany on April 15 with the introduction of two new models, the Brokk 60 and the Brokk 400D. The launch represents the 11th generation of Brokk machines, and marks our 35th year as a leader in remote-controlled demolition machine innovation and manufacturing.

Brokk 60

They say great things come in small packages. It’s true with the new Brokk 60, a small giant that’s a powerful and precise replacement for the popular B50. We’ve redesigned it from the ground up to make it faster and more powerful while keeping the machine compact and easy to maneuver. The B60 is the smallest remote-controlled demolition machine in the world with a height 2.75 inches shorter than its predecessor. The unit’s small size makes it ideal for applications where space is limited in industries as diverse as construction, demolition, metal processing and nuclear power.

The Brokk 60 increases productivity with more powerful breaking force, faster movements and a new control system. We incorporated major improvements that enhance the unit’s reliability, create smoother machine movements and allow for continuous, accurate monitoring of temperature and pressure. An advanced hydraulic system, with a flow rate of 5.8 – up from 4.8 – gallons per minute, allows the machine to perform faster while delivering almost 25 percent more power.

The external enhancements are for more than just looks. The exterior features sturdy steel covers and a covered slewing table to protect internal components from debris. We also incorporated long-lasting, efficient LED lights to provide better illumination to the work area.

The Brokk 60 maintains a reach of 8.2 feet and features the same mounting plate as the Brokk 50 so all the same attachments – breakers, crushers, buckets and grapples – are compatible. Like the Brokk 50, the Brokk 60 can be transported in an ordinary passenger elevator and can even climb up and down stairs.

Brokk 400D

The diesel-powered 400D offers all the benefits of the 330D in a heavier-duty machine that delivers enhanced durability and faster performance for applications where access to electricity is difficult, such as the metal processing and tunneling industries.

This machine moves a whopping 60 percent faster than the 330D it replaces, and features refinements that provide quicker maneuvering and positioning. The unit also boosts productivity with its new and improved control system, which allows the operator to control the machine with quick, precise movements for accurate demolition and other complex tasks. The 400D also features a powerful new engine.

The 440D expands on the versatility of the 330D with a few slight changes to the physical design. The new 400D has a slightly bigger envelope than the 330D, weighs approximately 2,200 pounds more and can reach out nearly 23 feet. With a total weight of 12,125 pounds, it can handle heavier attachments like the hard-hitting SB 552 breaker. It also works well with attachments like crushers, grapples, drills and scabblers that are used with the electric-powered Brokk 400. The unit also features enhanced stability and durability with its larger undercarriage and sturdier steel hood.

We built our company by creating productive, safe and versatile machines that support our customers’ profitability goals. With the release of these two new machines, we continue to deliver on all fronts.
